Does Careprost helps to treat Glaucoma ?
Careprost Eye Drops can be used to treat and control the progression of some eye disorders including glaucoma and raised intraocular pressure. The active ingredient present in Careprost is Bimatoprost which exhibits the activity by enhancing the drainage of aqueous humor in the eye, thus, reduces the IOP. This may assist in warning any harm on the optic nerve that is usually caused by high IOP and may result in damage of vision.
Nevertheless, Careprost Eye Drops are mainly used and ordered for conditions other than eye infections. Otherwise known as ocular infections, eye infections are commonly due to bacterial, viral, fungal or other microorganisms, and the management commonly requires the use of anti-bacterial or anti-viral agents depending on the type of eye infection.
For example:
Bacterial eye infections: They are usually treated using topical antibiotics in the form of eye drops or ointments (such as ciprofloxacin, erythromycin).
Viral eye infections: Usually require antiviral drugs such as acyclovir and supportive intervention.
